Lambert and Dad Play Cards.

Lambert was addicted, for a time, to a club penguin card game. He is very good at it and both he and I collect the cards. It is a lot of fun.

Knex Night!

Before and during dinner the boys and I made a crane out of Knex pieces - we had a good time.

I made a chair for the deck.

Shawn sent me some templates so I whipped up two of these bad boys for our back deck - I will make two more so that we can have our guests sit with us.

Maxwells Feelings.

Maxwell has had a cough the last few days he was wandering around looking for something. I had not heard him cough today yet - so I asked him how he was feeling. He said 'A little sad since I cannot find the [Christmas Tree] Ornament I am looking for.'

I have not heard him talk about anything regarding feelings when asked. I thought it was hilarious and very cute.

Jason's Backpacking Trip.

My best bud Jason and I went backpacking this weekend at Pedernalas State park. We hiked about 10 miles in two days and had a lot of fun setting up camp and checking out our gear. It was a BEAUTIFUL weekend weather-wise and we could not have asked for a better time.

Lambert's 5th Birthday Party

Lambert had his 5th birthday party today! We went to the VFW park in Katy, Texas and many of his friends were there to celebrate. We played on the equipment, ate pizza, smashed a Pinata, ate cake, opened presents, and had a good time!

Christmas Program 2008

The kids had their Christmas Special at their school tonight. Lambert had a speaking line "This song tells about a special gift for Jesus." when he introduced the song Little Drummer Boy. Maxwell played a drum during that song and Lambert played a bell during Angel's We Have Heard On High. It was great and the kids were well behaved and did great! We were VERY proud of them.

Well - I am a few grams heavier.

I was working in my garage Tuesday and I was using a hand axe. I got the axe stuck in a knot in the wood so I grabbed a hammer to pound it through. When I hit it - a sliver of metal flew off and hit my thigh. After seeing that it cut me - I felt how deep it was. It was deep. It was bleeding - clear liquid (it is the liquid that protects the sheath surrounding the muscle) and then it was bleeding. The cut, however, was only, 1/8th inch wide - at the most.

I grabbed a pair of tweezers and probed the hole for the sliver. It was way too far to find. I decided to call around and see which emergency room was the slowest. I went to the closest - and a few hours later I had the X-rays you see above. A piece of metal nearly 1.5 inches under the skin at an odd angle - and we could not simply dig it out. The piece was .191 x .114 and didn't hurt in the least.

I was referred to a orthopedic surgeon and he said that I should leave it. It was not worth the pain of 'going fishing' for it.

So - I now have metal in my leg - forever.

Lambert's Bathtub Photos.

These are drawings by Lambert of himself on the side of the tub. I think they are so cool!
